Founder and Franchisor

Mike Hanrahan, Maid2Clean’s founder and franchisor has always had an active role in the business. If you enquire on our website about coming a franchisee, he’ll pick up your enquiry and invites potential franchisees to Maid2Clean’s head office to meet him in person. He’s open and honest and will tell you anything that you want to know about becoming a franchisee. Here Mike share’s his background on starting Maid2Clean, the type of people that make good franchisees, what to consider before investing and the difference that Maid2Clean makes to the wider society…

Why did you decide to start the Maid2Clean Franchise?

“I started a cleaning business with my wife when she was pregnant with our daughter to create a better work/life balance for ourselves. The business was successful and I realised that the business model could be replicated to build a franchise so others could benefit in the way we had done.”

What type of people make good franchisees?

“Our franchisees are from all walks of life. Some are married with young children and others are retired and want to supplement their pension to gain be able to live abroad or travel. Some of our franchisees live in their franchise location whilst others run their businesses remotely. We have franchisees that run their businesses from Florida, Spain and Malta.”

What should I consider before investing in a franchise?

“If you are genuinely interested in buying a business, I urge you to conduct your due diligence thoroughly to avoid the mistake of ‘buying a job’ – like those offered in traditional cleaning franchises. With Maid2Clean we invite you to build a real residual income business instead. Maid2Clean is far more than ‘just a cleaning franchise’.”

What difference does Maid2Clean make to society?

“Maid2Clean Franchise is less concerned about making a profit – than we are about making a difference to people’s lives. Firstly, our franchisees have a consistent residual income and the flexibility to work how and when they want to. Secondly, our clients don’t have to spend time cleaning their homes, so they have more free time and thirdly, we provide work for around 18,500 cleaners.”
